Why I built Hijan

Dom and his grandmother
I created Hijan for my grandmother, Jan. I saw how happy she was when I'd call, how she looked forward to the simplest bit of novelty in her day. But I couldn't always be there.

So I wanted to see if AI could help bridge that gap between the times I could call. It's certainly not a substitute for human connection, but it is something extra to brighten her day.
